Ellie O’Hara has more than 15 years’ experience in senior leadership positions across state and local government, including Director, Project Director and Executive Director roles. Her career has focused on governance, organisational reform, stakeholder engagement and the delivery of large-scale projects with state-wide impact.
She has led major initiatives such as The Queensland Plan, a long-term vision for the state developed through extensive community engagement, and the review of the Public Safety Business Agency, which required consultation across Queensland Police, Fire and Emergency Services and reporting to Cabinet. She has also managed projects in procurement, infrastructure planning and public policy, working with ministers, senior public servants and community stakeholders.
In her current role, Ellie works closely with the Banana Shire, Central Highlands Regional, Gladstone Regional, Livingstone Shire, Rockhampton Regional and Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Councils. She is responsible for progressing projects that support economic development and infrastructure investment across Central Queensland, leading advocacy with government and industry, and building partnerships that strengthen outcomes for the region.
