Congratulations to Greater Hume Council on the Appointment of its New General Manager

Greater Hume Council has announced the appointment of Dena Vlekkert as its new General Manager, following a comprehensive recruitment process.

LG Services Group was pleased to support Council through this process, with our Senior Executive Advisor Steven Pinnuck working closely with the organisation. Steven brings long experience in local government across the region, including time as a CEO and General Manager, and understands the leadership needs of councils in growing regional communities.

Dena brings close to twenty years of leadership experience across both local government and the private sector. Most recently, she served as Director Community and Corporate at Wodonga City Council. Her work across community services, corporate functions and financial management provides a solid foundation for the role. Already based in the region, she also brings a clear understanding of the opportunities and pressures facing councils in the Albury–Wodonga area.

Council has confirmed that Dena will commence in February 2026 under a five-year performance-based contract. Acting General Manager Colin Kane will continue in the role until that time. Council has acknowledged Colin’s steady contribution through a difficult period.

We congratulate Dena on her appointment and wish her every success. We also acknowledge the commitment of everyone involved throughout the process.
